Dear Humanoid and SPL Teams,

as many of you already know, image annotation is a crucial task for machine learning-based computer vision. The effort of annotating images and developing tools for annotation can be greatly reduced by using shared tools. At the vRoHOW (virtual Robot Hamburg Open Workshop) in December 2020, we had workshops on new and existing tools for annotating and managing data for computer vision. We observed that different teams often prefer different workflows and therefore have different requirements for such tools.

In the spirit of collaboration between RoboCup teams and even across RoboCup leagues, we want to reduce the time that is being wasted on annotating and classifying image data as well as developing tools for managing the data. Therefore, we want to collect the requirements of many teams such that they can be used to create tools suitable for everyone.

During the meeting, we would like each team to show the solution that you are currently using (screenshots or slides (may be sent to us in advance) or live demonstration would be appreciated, no more than 5 minutes), the benefits of the tool, and the features which you are missing in it. If you don’t currently use a tool or have additional ideas that are not yet covered by existing tools, you are of course still invited to participate and share your thoughts.
